Elections 2015: Primary races to watch in Warren County

Candidates who want to run under a major party banner in the November election filed their nominating petitions last week, and while some candidates are running unopposed, 16 seats are contested throughout the county.

Here's what you need to know before the Tuesday, June 2 primary vote.

Allamuchy Township: Mayor Betty Schultheis (R) faces challenger Keith DeTombeur (R) for a three-year seat.

Alpha Borough: Sitting council members Millard Rooks (D) and Tracy Grossman (D) face off for a four-year seat as mayor.

Belvidere Town: Republicans Desmond Fitzgerald, Louis Miller and John Clemmer are vying for a three year council seat and Mayor Linda Stettler (R) is challenged for her four-year seat by Councilman Joseph Kennedy (R).

Blairstown Township: Four Republicans including James Gilmore, Walter Orcutt, Paul Avery and Cynthia Dalton are running for two three-year council seats.

Franklin Township: Republicans Michael Toretta, Joe E. Flynn and Jeannene Butler are vying for two three-year committee seats.

Greenwich Township: Peter Grenyo (R) and William Spencer (R) are running for one three-year committee seat.

Lopatcong Township: Republicans Joseph Pryor, Lee Rozycki, Joseph Nazario and Councilman Louis Belcaro are running for two three-year council seats.

Mansfield Township: Committeeman Joseph Watters (R) is challenged by Scott Minter (R) for a three-year seat.

Phillisbpurg Town: Republicans John Lynn, Robert Fulper and Brian Otto are seeking two four-year council seats.

Washington Township: Republicans George Willan, Theresa Iacobucci, Ralph Fiore Jr. and Nancy Anderson are vying for two three-year committee seats.
